This website is designed to connect you with the Office of Residence Life at Central Michigan University and the services we offer. On this site, you will find information about our residence halls, university apartments, leadership opportunities, possible employment openings, as well as resources for parents.

To be truly connected to the campus community we believe it is important that our first, and many of our second-year students, live in a residence hall. The benefits include:

• A fast track to get to know the campus and the many resources available. Our residence hall staff is here to help you in your transition to university life, answer any questions you may have, or lend a listening ear or shoulder when needed.
• A fantastic way to get involved in fun, rewarding activities and programs, while also meeting lots of new people.
• Location, location, location.
• A great place to live and learn! You may choose from several residential colleges, the Honors Program, Leadership Advancement opportunities, and also utilize designated study locations for individual and group study. Research has shown that on average, students living in residence halls obtain higher grade-point averages, have higher retention rates, and are more persistent in their quest to graduate.
• Residential Restaurants are available for extended hours and offer a myriad of delicious and nutritious offerings.

The CMU Promise: The CMU Promise was a tuition guarantee plan that CMU began offering to undergraduate students in fall 2005. It set one unchanging tuition rate for incoming freshmen and transfer students for up to five years, eliminated mandatory fees, and also offered an unchanging room and board rate for two years. The tuition guarantee plan remains in effect for all students enrolled through the summer 2008 semester, but is not offered to students who enrolled beginning fall 2008 or later. The CMU Room and Board Promise ended in May, 2008 at the conclusion of the 2007-2008 academic year.
