Housing

A community that cares for you

Live in one of our 17 residence halls and you’ll soon be calling it home. Home because you’ll meet friends you’ll have for life. Home because everything is here you need to get involved, see academic success and feel connected.

Each residence hall is a community within a community with many services and amenities including, residential fitness centers, laundry rooms, internet access, markets and dining units. As a freshman, you can choose a traditional residence life experience or join a Living Learning Community and live among fellow CMU Chippewas with similar academic interests, goals or achievements.

Our residency policy requires first and second-year students live on campus (see exceptions). Students who live on campus have higher grade point averages, are more satisfied with their college experience, are more engaged in co-curricular experiences and more likely to graduate than students who live off campus. When you live on campus, you belong to a community that supports and encourages your success.

Our Graduate Housing apartments are available to graduate students seeking the conveniences of living on campus.
